Default Solstice wins Red Bull Drifting World Championship

I know most of you guys don't care for drifting, but I just wanted to pointed out that Rhys Millen Racing and his Solstice won the Red Bull Drifting World Championship.

http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/17/rhys-mi...ing-world-cham/

Gathering at the Port of Long Beach were the top drivers that compete from Formula DRIFT, D1GP, D1 New Zealand, DMCC, Drift Australia, EDC, FD Singapore, IDS, Nordic Drift, New Zealand Drift, and Pro Drift. This was a battle of the champions and Formula DRIFT 2005 champion Millen came out on top.

The event was held at a special venue on the Port of Long Beach that featured a purpose built drifting track that was highlighted by a very fast entry and 6 technical turns. Event winner Millen set the speed bar high by also claiming the highest entry speed of the event with a speed of 103.7 miles per hour during the finals. The track proved to be challenging with many drivers falling victim to the walls and barricades and other drivers stepping up to show off their total car control.

the FD is a great track car from the factory, with flaws, but plenty of room for improvement...the Solstice is a turd from the factory

You make no sense, the solstice is a great track car from the factory as well.

Tsuchiya Keiichi also says it's a good track car, and it ran better then the MX5 when he drove both of them. And it also won two SCCA Showroom Stock B and two SCCA Touring II championships, back-to-back.

I've never heard any reputable person say that, nor have I read any reviews of the stock car which back up such a statement. The handling is generally considered mediocre at best, stock.

I think the guys at Grassroots Motorsports would disagree.

So would the SCCA racers that run Solstices. Easily one of the best factory backed track cars to be produced since the Miata.

You can't expect him to come to terms with reality. The FD is god and always will be for him.
