An SCCA Showroom Stock B or C Stock Soltice comes with 8" wide wheels all around and it can fit 285 width DOT R-Compounds all around - Considerably more tire than an S2000 can fit. On a 2800 lb car, that equals MASSIVE grip.

I could be wrong, but I don't think the CS and AS national times are directly comparable. I believe the classes were run at different times of day. CS ran later, and there was more rubber laid down from all the previous runs. There's probably a thread on this in the racing and competition forum. I'm no expert (just a regional guy on street tires), but I don't think the GXP will dominate. Hopefully it will be able to mix it up in a class were the Sti, S2000, 993, and C4 are all competitive.
