It should be an interesting swap. No way to compare every day driveability, but there is something addictive about the drive of the Elise for me. I'm fortunate enough to have a commute that includes some beautiful canyons and/ or smooth freeways. Ran some errands today and actually didn't drag the front end on anything and had room in the trunk for whatever I needed.
Bought it used with 4000 miles, so hopefully won't take the huge hit on resale that most do suffer from. Resale is pretty poor on the Lotus' right now, so I had to take advantage of that. The previous owner put on excellent shocks, better exhaust, harnesses, suspension reinforcements, etc and then never drove it. Just about thru my first tank of gas and mileage is looking to be just under 30. The rental I had averaged over 30 highway.
A 1900+ pound car has a feel that has to be experienced...you'll either fall in love, or hurt your back getting in . It would be great to have both, but we'll see if I can live with just this. And for the nasty weather days, always have the pickup.
Happy driving,
Mark

Congratulations. The Lotus is something that I am thinking about for after the S. Definitely not a daily driver, tho'. I don't drive the S everyday but I definitely appreciate it more when I do drive it.
Also, you need to post pics with this kind of thread, man. It's a beautiful car.

Only 1 pic at this point, but you get the idea I loved the look of the Exige, but wanted the soft-top option, so when I saw how this Elise was built up...had to have it.

I'm guessing you didn't know that you can take the top off of the Exige as well. Either way, your Elise is hot. You'll like this forum... http://www.elisetalk.com/forums/
