I'd definitely shoot for a used Boxster S. Great performance, more refined than the S2000, but still quite sporty. Doesn't look as good (to me) but overall, it's a better car.

Wait a bit and get a z4m. That s54 is a fantastic engine. You'll get the same high revving feel but with a bit more refinement (don't get me wrong, i like raw too). Sure they're like 54k now but they'll come down...

I think that the current Z4s are ugly, so I'd suggest against that.
How about a 2000'ish 911 (non-turbo)? Or maybe an MB SLK?
I think I'd trade in that BMW you have, take your cash from the S2000 and get a 335 or wait for the new M3.
