I love that bike. After I spend a year or two riding my SV650S (which is my first bike) I plan on getting the 848 in white.

Very good looking bikes, but I'd get the 1198S, if I could get used to the UPS truck sound.

The 1198S is a stellar power wheelie machine, $16k?

Yes, they're not very good street bikes IMO.

Look at the Ducati Streetfighter - it looks and sounds incredible in person, and is much more comfortable (both due to ergos and lack of heated seat).

I think Ducati finally woke up and smelled the cost of lost sales due to their styling. They even admitted it on Twist of the Throttle program. It's a wonder they survived as a business after producing some of the most atrocious looking bikes after hiring Pierre.

Coming around full circle to the styling that created the greatest sportbike of all time - the 916.

OK, put down the crackpipe, dude! It was revolutionary for its time, but it's nowhere near the greatest sportibike of all time!

The scary thing about the 1098 IMO is that max torque kicks in at I think 2200 RPM. With max torque for roughly 14k RPM and 1100cc of power, it is a suicide rocket for me.
I actually found it quite easy to ride, as the powerband is so smooth - it's all about throttle control!
