so... I got a new (used) car
I have had this car for a while now but my brother borrowed it for the past 4 months. Just got it back this weekend.
I did drive it for a couple of miles when I first got it but kept it very tame in a residential area so the car didn't feel very special. This weekend I put a few more miles.
impression
Loud.
Seating i so very low. I am short so I can barely see over steering wheel. I have to find a way to raise the seat.
The drive was nerve wracking. I never had a car that cost over $100K before. On top of this the car was hard to drive. Visibility was crappy due to the seat being so low. The control also required more brute force than the S2000 (which was much finer). I think this car is something I need to get used to.
it's faster than the S2000.
people look at you more. No one notice you when you drive the Honda. I don't like it. The 2nd drive was early morning to avoid the public.
Overall, it wasn't as fun as the S2000. This is borderline sacrilegious as a motor enthusiast. Hopefully this will change. Don't want to spend so much money and then realize it's a mistake.
I also had serious consideration about getting a late model NSX. I think I would have enjoyed it more. Not sure. Maybe I can tag along with the NSX crowd and get a ride.
When I first got the S2000, it didn't feel very different from the Civic I had. Only after a few weeks I can appreciate how nice the S2000 is.
would have liked to drive a little more but work got in the way (have to pay for the car some how)...
here are some cell phone pics
will post better pics when have time to use SLR camera.

I have had 3 Stradales and I don't like them. They look and sound great but the F1 trans is horrendous. The 1-2 shift around town is archaic. When on full throttle there a few cars more exhilarating--unfortunately WOT is less than 5% of my driving--the other 95% is just annoying. I constantly feel like something is going to break. I agree with you--spending 5x the $$$ doesn't get you 5x the fun especially when you are comparing to the S2000. The best thing about the Strad---aside from maintenance you won't lose a dime when you go to sell!

thanks for the kind words.
3 Stradales before deciding they weren't right? I guess that's why you are successful - sheer determination!!
I had not done WOT b/c I'm still pretty new to the car. Also, don't want to piss off the neighbors as this car is already pretty loud at idle.

Nice car. Wow, I thought you'd be more into than you are in your post? What does "WOT" stand for?

Sweet car but too slow by today's standards. But a great buy from a noise/emotional standpoint. If you don't love it dump it, like you said too much $ to be tied up in something you don't love.
