So I crashed
Monday I did 100+ miles on the 17 turn 2.65 mile VIR South Course and I didn't put a wheel wrong. NOT ONCE!
This morning I'm on my way to work on Old Frederick Road and this kid at a bus stop waves at me. It grabs my attention for a instant and at that same instant traffic stopped. I had a safe following distance but I clamped down on the front brake, It locked and I low-sided the bike. I had all my gear on (leather jacket, pants helmet, gloves) so my only injury is a bit of a headache (I bounced my head off the pavement) and spot of rash on my left pinky where the glove wore through.
It just kills me (pardon the pun) that I can spend a day tearing around a race track without a mistake and I crash going 30 mph!
I think I'll stick to sports cars.

You didn't crash at the track because you weren't distracted. Sorry you went down.
From experience, I have learned to always expect the unexpected. I am constantly thinking of "what if" situations as I ride.

Glad your okay though. How does your bike look now?
Left side all rashed-up, mirror and turn signal and shifer snapped off and the stator cover is all rashed.
I hope the parts are less than $1500

It happens to the best, be thankful there was not a vehicle behind you to add to the mix...
No matter what, it still sucks, and as long as you are in one piece that is all that matters

Sorry to hear this. Cars don't fall over, huh? Did you ever see the Rossi commercial where he is driving a Civic Si, I think, and at every stop sign or light he opens the door and puts his foot down?

Maybe you should get a track bike just for that reason so you can stay focused.
