I also think the SLK is very nice, especially with a hardtop convertible. So much torque compared to s2000. But it is really expensive.

Yea, that basically won't happen even in your dream.

Okay.. the reason why I asked was becuase someone in my family bought a 2006 about 2 months ago.. Ever since then he thinks its the best thing in the world and has become very cocky.. He paid less then I paid for the S. However he thinks since it's a benz its a better/faster car..

For example.
We a normal person ask someone to get something out of the car they say. Can you get this out of my car?
However he now says
Can you get this out of my Benz?

I couldn't believe it.. Someone that is a big car lover got a UGLY car like that out of a lot of better cars including a s2k.

So I wanted to see if I was wrong about thinking a S2k was better.

I prefer the S for sure, hands down. Prior to driving the S, I drove the SLK - the power and torque were good and satisfying - the S is better in every other way IMO. In Canada they want an arm and a leg for an SLK - definitely too pricey for what you are getting. I agree with another posters comment that the interior looks downright plain and un-Mercedes-like. I don't quite like the organic shape, I preferred the squarer looking SLK.

If buying some used, slightly effeminate Mercedes flipped his switch that easy, it sounds like he was a douche-bag-in-the-making. I wouldn't sweat it.

Get rid of any dumb friends you have who feel better by having a badge of a car.

I think it was a family member who, unfortunately, you don't get to choose.

I'd need to drop a Cleveland Steamer on his hood, but then act really shocked! "OMG, someone did a big dookie on the Benz!!"

Just say it must have come from the previous owner. If he had more money, maybe he could have afford a new one and wouldn't have to deal with such a problem. That should put his cocky attitude in place

Here's a preemptive I'm not against buying used cars disclaimer. In fact, I prefer to buy used ones so some other sucker can eat the depreciation. Then again, I don't hold myself out as cocky based on the car I bought.

Oh me too. I didn't mean to imply the guy was second class because he bought used, it was just a convenient target for a first class w****r
