SL55 and the E55. A Contradicting Statement??
OK,
So I've read that both the E and SL are fast, but which one is faster??
the SL is "listed" with 493hp and 516 lb/ft of torque and the E with 469hp and 516lb/ft of torque
I've heard the E55 or the SL55 is faster than the Lambo Bat from 100-150, which one is true??
I also know that AMG truly understates their power ratings, so what are the true ratings??
I've been getting mixed up?? Help me out.
thnx

God not this again...
I have posted this time and time again. Both cars are as identical as you can possibly get in terms of acceleration. Drive them both back-to-back as I along with my brother and cousin have, and you will not be able to tell which one is faster. Even magazine times are so close that the difference posted is merely due to track conditions.

Don't know why the SL is marketed as "fastest". I'd go with test data over marketing slogans.

E55 is lighter with similar wheel horsepower and torque ratings.

i don't know which is faster, but i've driven both, and all i can say is that the SL feels deceptively light and nimble. the SL is definitely one of my top candidate as the perfect daily cruiser. the fit and finish of that car is pure immaculate, and the car fits me like a glove.
