Should I get an ILX or an ATS
#61
I'm with Marioshi on this one, a Mazda 6 is a really nice car and isn't a cheap pos. It also doesn't have a cheap image like some of you seem to think... Or is it that different over there in the states?
I would definitely look into a nice Mazda 6 if you're looking at an Audi A4, BMW 3 series, MB C class, lexus IS. Same class imo
It's a nice car without looking like an asshole with an expensive car

I don't think that people equate Mazda with being crappy. That's not what I'm saying at all. I think Mazdas are great cars. It's just that no one thinks of them as being luxury cars. Maybe they'll think, "Gee, even regular cars like this Mazda sure are getting nice inside," but none of them will think it's a luxury car.

Work purposes. Otherwise, I do not.

Yeah, I drove one the other day and it sucked.

I still think Acura doesn't fill the spot any better than a nice Mazda.
Most people know that an Acura is just a nice Honda.
A nice Mazda is just a nice Mazda. I think you are all putting WAY too much thought into this.
Acura seems like a "me too" brand in my opinion. As in, you wanted a luxury car, but couldn't afford one, so you got an Acura. Sad, but it's true...

Dude, there is not a chance in hell that any non-car guy knows that Acura is a Honda, that Lexus is a Toyota, Audi is a VW, or that Infinity is Nissan. 95% of the world has no clue.
Anyway, if you find yourself talking about your car a lot get the acura/Cadillac, if you want something actually nice/good to drive buy the Mazda, nobody is going to see it/ride in it and think you suck at your job.
My stepmom just got a 3.6 ATS fully loaded...I was not impressed for the money

I drove some ATSs today. Yup. I like the car a lot.
I also looked at a 2014 IS 350. Guys, I'm not sure what there is to like about the interior. It's very plasticy. The seats were good, I guess. But the dash and center console is not in the same league as the Cadillac. I think that BMW interiors are step up from the Cadillac, but the Lexus felt like a step down.
The Cadillac has plastic on the sides of the dash (the part that's covered by the doors), the base of the seats, and the bottom of the door. Other than that, it's all nice materials (including the shiny plastic of the screens and AC controls, which are like a computer type deal with metal buttons).

Cadilac - #4
Acura - #12
Honda - #5 (ILX = Civic)
Lexus - #1
You seem dead set on the Caddy... Does it zig?
This is a "semi" practical purchase, and not at the same time. I believe you're looking to confirm your bias toward the ATS.
2015 study... BUT - see 2013 study below (since you're considering a 2013 ATS)
Cadilac - 14
Honda - 7
Acura - 8
Lexus - 1
data is beautiful...
