Default Should I?

I have the chance of picking up a new 02 MV Agusta F4 motorcycle for only $15K. They normally go for $18K plus. If I do, my girlfriend will kill me. If I don't, I may regret it. So I'm looking for your advice... Should I?

Talk to Z06-Killr, he used to own a MV Agusta. According to him, there were too many problems with the bike. That is a good price though.

If you have to ask, no.

I had an 00 Honda CBR600F4. I haven't rode in almost 2 years now after riding a lot for 3 years straight from 98 to 01. I plan to take the MSF Course again to refresh and hopefully it'll all come back like riding a bicycle.

Thanks for the advice so far...

Well, the MV will definitely turn more heads than any other bike on the road. That bike is absolutely beautiful, but that's about all that it's good for. Pricey, high maintenance, and so so performance. If I were you, I'd stick to the Jap. bikes. Considering that you have 3 years under your belt, maybe a I4 liter bike? It'll outrun the pretty MV any day of the week.

It strictly depends on your motive for buying it. If it's to be used for a regular rider, you probably will be a bit disappointed with it, unless you are into roadside ooohs and aaahs when you stop. If you can still afford another daily runner, I think it would be so cool. Look into the vintage resale values, the rare exotic stuff commands incredible prices. And there isn't much a rarer breed than the MV. SCARCE. But" low miles" and a lapse of 10-25 years will be required before you can appreciate a huge monetary gain. Unfortunately, for most people, a more pedestrian style of bike will serve you better.
