Shocker - My Cadillac hasn't been perfectly reliable
I just thought I'd give you guys a quick update. I bought a 2014 Cadillac ATS about a year and a half ago. It's had a couple hiccups. The touch screen stopped responding to touch, the real axle seals have leaked, the fan for the AC wasn't blowing at full blast, and my drivers side strut blew out (which may have been my fault, having hit a gnarly pothole). In any event, all that stuff has been covered by warranty and the dealership has treated me like royalty.
In summation, I'd say that the car has had some issues but I'm still glad I bought it instead of the Acuras I was considering. The pros make up for the cons. I'm hopeful that all the little bugs have been sorted and it will be trouble-free going forward, but I like the car enough to stomach these issues.

I've seen your original post but don't recall if you got the 2.0T. If so, what's your opinion on that motor now that you've driven it for a long time? The power looks great for a 2 liter, but is it smooth enough?

I have the V6 model. To be frank, though, I had a four cylinder turbo model for about a week and I didn't love it. It's a pretty good engine compared to a bunch of other crap that's on the market, but it doesn't hold a candle to the V6. That Cadillac V6 really sings. I have read about people tuning the turbo four and making into a world beater, but in stock trim there is no comparison.

Yeah, all my other cars have been as well. So far, it hasn't taken the fun out of the Cadillac for me. I drove all kinds of other cars when I was shopping and just really liked the character of the ATS and I knew I was taking a risk. I've got a warranty for a long time to come, so I'm not letting it get me down.

So you liking the chassis then? I'm still seriously considering a camaro.

No car is perfect and that stuff seems pretty minor overall. Plus, warranty and a loaner Cadillac always makes it much more bearable. My ZR1 has been at the shop for 10 days because they are backed up. It just has a suspension clunk they need to fix under my GMPP extended warranty. So, I’ve put over a thousand miles on the new Silverado loaner. Works for me.

Haha. Yup.
