A friend of mine is Porsche driving instructor and I took him out for a drive in the Vantage. He had never been in one and was totally amazed. He had no idea they are that sporty. He thought it was a full on sports car, nothing GT about it. He was in awe of the sound, looks, and overall craftsmanship. Later on he said he really felt that "James Bond" feeling in the car. So far this feeling has been echoed by others who have driven or been in the Vantage. I removed the fuse for the active valve exhaust and that makes it sound wicked all the time. No longer have the race the engine to get that sound. And what a sound it is..
Now he is looking for one, but I think he wants it to replace his race car (996 GT2). Got me really thinking I shouldn't be so quick to just get a Rapide. I took the car our for long drive today to collect some wine. The trunk held three cases; two flat - one regular upright.

We should get a couple dozen people together who want to drive around Europe and save on shipping costs by pooling. If it was safe and reasonably priced, I would definitely consider doing this. An informal gumbally rally of sorts, but without the asshats.
