That's pretty much true about everything though. You can always pick between the lower and higher powered versions. And many people do go with the smaller engine. While I feel the same as you, I could see going with the six if you are a person who isn't likely to exploit the V-8's power very often. A 5.1 0-60 is plenty quick enough for most people, even enthusiasts. And some of us prefer handling over power.

Last night I attended the SAE "Camaro Vehicle Event" in Troy, Michigan, which is a dinner/banquet sponsored by the Society of Automotive Engineers where they celebrate a new vehicle. I've been to several of these events and I wanted to see what they had to say about this car.
The Chief Design Engineer went through details about the total redesign of the new Camaro: Several hundred pounds lighter, stiffer, more powerful, much more aerodynamic and lots of attention to detail. It's a little shorter and wider than the previous model, and they did a great job designing this car. I was particularly impressed at the detail spent on drafting and wind flow: They designed the front end, undercarriage, roof and spoiler to eliminate lift and allow it to hug the road at high speeds. The front grille was modified during design to prevent unwanted turbulence and to optimize cooling of the engine, brakes, etc.
This is an awesome car. You will definitely enjoy it!

I think it's great that Chevrolet is offering the 1LE package on the 2017 V6 Camaro in addition to the SS. If I were buying any 6th generation Camaro it would not be until 2017 when the 1LE's are available along with the ZL1.

Yes, need pics and good choice on critical required options on the 2SS! Looking forward to the pictures and initial feedback. We are still loving ours.
