Default Selling the S

Well, the time has come where I am basically forced to sell my 2000 Silverstone S (due to work, i do outside sales). Has about 35k miles on it, and is in good condition besides a small cut in the soft top.

KBB lists my car at ~$15,000 although with the tear I would be happy to get ~$14k. Should I fix the top before I sell it?

Anyway, once I sell it, im looking to buy a new car for $25k or under. Preferably with <50k miles.

Would appreciate any suggestions you guys have.

Currently looking at...

Acura TSX

BMW 3 series

Nissan 350z

Lexus IS

As you can see, this list is pretty mediocre, so any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks- Mike.

What needs does the new car have to fulfill that requires the sale of your S? Having a Z in your list denotes to me that "more room" isn't the reason.

I say find a nice E46 330i with the ZHP package.

I like the aesthetics of the Lexus IS350, even through the handling is reportedly pretty numb. For a comfy sales cruiser, I'd rock one

Basically I need a car that is better in rain (especially on the highway, as I hydroplaned going under the speed limit and would prefer not to get on the highway while raining) and also can be driven with light snow.

On second thought, a 350Z would be a pretty bad choice.

Yeah, from the way things are looking, I'd expect to find used 08 WRX STI's in the mid 20's in the near future. very nice car with tons of versatility.

Ummm its cheaper to buy tires.. Allseasons or winter tires maybe? i go the speed limit in the rain with my allseason tires and im fine..Other wise my vote goes for the tsx or IS .. i have heard bmw reliability has gone down over the years..
