Default Selling Car

Well, unfortunately, it's come time to sell my MY01 S. I have a new job, in which I am required to have a 4-door car, for carting around customers. On the plus side, my employer gives me a car allowance, and I'm thinking about getting an 07 G35 sedan.

So here is my question: I have a dime-sized chip near my headlight that has started to rust. I am not sure yet if I'm going to try to sell my S or trade it in, due to timing and logistics of my new job/move. How should I handle the chip? Should I:
a) Get it fixed (not sure how much it'll cost yet)
b) Leave it.
c) Get an estimate, but don't get it fixed

The thing I'm worried about I guess, is the dealer making a big deal about it and trying to knock down my trade-in value a ton for it being there. Obviously not a problem if I get it fixed. Also if I get an estimate and it costs, say $300, to fix.. I can then say, "Hey, this would cost my 300 to fix, you are a dealer and have your own body shop, so it'd only cost you 200. Don't try to screw me on my trade-in value"..

What would you do?

BTW, yes I'm going to die a little bit inside when I get rid of it.. But I'm moving to Chicago and plan to live in the city.. I don't want two cars parked out on the street...

07 G35 Sedan ...my only option for a mid sized Sedan <50k. I don't like anything else. The TL is nice but the G35 is more appealing to me.

Yeah, I wanted a sedan priced in the mid 30's, and for the options, horsepower and rwd, the G35 beat out the A4, 3 series, IS250 and any Acura for me.

Plus the improvements they've made in the exterior and especially the exterior in the 07s did it for me.

You're getting a car allowance? Why not just get a second car? You can park the S in a garage and get it when you want it. Might not be worth the cost though... G35S is nice, what is the allowance? Lump sum or monthly?

Park it in a dark spot at the dealer and hope they don't notice. It worked for a friend of mine.
