SELL THE S FOR A S14 OR KEEP IT?!

I'm not gonna tell you what your priorities should be. But it looks like you have way too many options available to you and don't really know how to handle it.
What I would do IF I was living paycheck to paycheck, is stay put and follow through, be committed and pay off the car.
Don't start selling things just to into something else that might get you into trouble. But if you want to sell your R1 and beater so that you have some cash on hand to save, and dont really want the RI and beater anymore, then sell em.
Again, if it's me, I wouldn't be trading or adding, i would just cut loose the things i don't really NEED or WANT anymore. You'll NEED a car, might as well keep the one you really WANT as long as you can afford it.

Hmm, yes after reading the comments about selling the S, may be quite a headache since you're gonna get a hude depreciation hit, which will also only get worse over time considering 06s are creeping into the teens, thass what a 12000 hit for 3 years? 4000 a year? If you owe 25K+ on it and not upside down, might be better off trying to find a CPOed one for 15, that way you got a warranty and a lot smaller payments. Plus you'll be rightside up for the most part.
However, if you plan on keeping this car well past the time you pay it off, then hold onto it since buying new will net a better value over a longer period of time since you have 100% control over its history and not buying a mystery box, otherwise drop it.

to the OP.
By reading all the other replies you can go either way. If i was in your position honestly, i would sell the car so you dont have monthly payments. I can only imagine how it feels to go paycheck by paycheck. So far i havent had to do so.
I currently own a s13 hatch and i love the car but i am gonna be putting it up for sale pretty quick to purchase an earlier year s2k. You said you owned one but for how long. I currently rebuilt my motor and turbo charged it (ka24de-T) and run 14lbs daily and have no running issues. Heck i drove the dang car all the way out to Salt Lake City, Utah from Southern Cali and it made it there and back like a charm. As for smog i was able to pass it legally 1 week ago (very suprised). I guess what im saying is you can buy and older car and build it to run great and fun for a reasonable price.
Just my input man. Hope whatever decision you choose goes great for yourself.
