Scirocco maybe to come to the USA

Looks OK, much cooler than a Golf/GTI, but I say screw a wrong-wheel-drive Scirocco, VW should bring us a modern rear (or mid) engined Karmann Ghia, or better still, one o' these:

Uh...perhaps because looks are SUBJECTIVE?
If somebody said it just didn't float their boat, that's one thing but comments like "ugly and confused as sin" and "bastardized Dodge product" are surprising to me because the lines seem simple and clean.
It's just not an outrageous design, so if somebody said "boring", I would understand that, but "confused" I don't understand.

Looks like a bastardized Dodge product.............but I'm being polite.
I like the way it looks, but I understood why VW didnt bring it to our shores, I mean yeah it looks better, but you then lose utility. Hatches here arent what they are in europe, i.e. they dont have the same cool factor.
Imo, what VW shouldve done if they plan on bringing it here is to bring it over as a special edition model, i.e. the R model. But essentially it's gonna compete against the golf, so people will not get to decide do I sacrifice a bit of style or a bit of utility, but the stretch isnt far enough to lose any real consumers or draw in any new ones.

I'm living where they are many of these cars. They look great in person especially the Scirocco R.

I like the looks quite a bit but if I were to take on German cost of ownership I'd probably opt for a more upscale/larger car like the A5. The whole econobox hatchback thing has always been lost on me, but I guess there are a lot of people out there that like the concept.

I've always liked small, quick hatchbacks. I like the Scirocco. I am not sure if they can justify having both cars in North America, since most Americans don't like the hatchbacks.
I've owned 2 Golfs already. They're not as horrible as people make it out to be. Sure, I've had my share of problems, and will heartily admit that it may be more problematic than a beige Corolla or a silver Civic.... but then it's much more exciting too.
