Everyone's forgetting the Schumacher hasn't exactly been sitting on his living room recliner watching TV and smoking cigars since his retirement -- amongst other things, he's been keeping busy as a test driver for Ferrari's Formula 1 team. He already has significant seat time in the current car (test drivers often have as much or more time in the cars than the actual race drivers). I'm sure he'll get up to speed quickly, or more accurately, that he's already mostly up to speed.
Seat time in the current car? i thought there was a test ban, did i miss something?

On the track, Michael Schumacher is as bad a person as you can imagine. He has blatantly tried to crash into people when he knew he couldn't win. He has forced people off the track to keep them from winning. He has stopped/slowed down to make them hit him. He might be a "nice guy" off the track but put him in a race car and he becomes a well-documented jerk.

And this is the reason why he is 7 times world champion,it takes a certain individual to do what he does and achieve what he has achieved.

My point exactly. It's rare for a "class act" to be a champion driver because of the ruthlessness of the sport at moments.

One thing he isn't is a gracious loser. A true class act would be.

There's an in-season test ban. Schumacher's served as a test driver for Ferrari, and I was under the impression that he may have had seat time in the F1 car in the pre-season, but a quick web search didn't provide any obvious corroborating sources.

He maybe a asshole on the track, but he certainly is not one off the track.

Too bad this cannot be said for the 90% of the pro athletes we have here in North America.

They are nothing but a bunch of money hungry, materialistic, drug & alcohol addicted criminal leaches that kids & adults should NEVER look up to as role models.

"Schumacher, who retired at the end of 2006, has remained with Ferrari in a consulting role and last tested a Formula One car in April 2008, prior to the return of slick tyres and the introduction of KERS and moveable front wings."

So again, my point is made for me. Thank you.

Schumacher is not a class act. Period.

You got anything else to say?

Now your starting to become amusing by repeating the same stuff over and over again.

Good find -- thanks.

At the end of the day, driving's driving though. I'm sure the new cars have quirks which will take a bit of getting used to, but I don't expect that Schumacher will take long to figure them out.
