As already stated, the clubman isn't new for Mini...the original iteration of the car had a clubman variant as well

Isn't it actually a Traveler Estate, but they just used the Clubman name because someone else still owns the rights to the name.

Either way I've seen it in person in Blue and silver and it looked like crap. This and the Lotus Europa don't really make sense to me. If you get a Mini get a regular cooper S.

That said the Carmel and Espresso looking one pictured looks pretty good. I like the interior.

I saw one on the road the other day. I said to my wife - "Hey look honey, its a Mini Maxi" She and I couldn't stop laughing about that for the rest of the trip.

The one in the picture seems to look better than the one in the Clubman/Pinball commercial.

You really shouldn't huff paint while you drive.

To be honest, it is like one of those cars for funerals.

the clubman is traditional -
Cooper has released them before (in the original mini) and they are selling that history
It is the spirit of the original...
Plus the engineering of it is pretty cool.

Plus, lots of space in a vehicle that gets good gas mileage IS the wave of the future.

And I have to say, that 2-tone brown color scheme is beautiful!

Prior to the Clubman they only had 1 car for sale. That car was the MINI Cooper. Do you recommend that they dont make any other cars? Is the Clubman in violation of some sacred doctrine that any other future MINI product cannot be bigger than the first gen Cooper? Please explain how you think they should expand the MINI brand. At the end of the day its still about the $$$$.
I never said said it was "too big", I think it's too ugly. But I do think the whole concept of the new Mini is a bit skewed because ever since the Mini was reintroduced it's become significantly larger than the original. In the 2 years [or something like that] from the time the original Mini stopped production and the new Mini started production, BMW added approx. 10 inches to the width and 20+ inches to the length. It's barely a small car by today's standards, and now they're making it bigger! What's the point of calling it a Mini?

And I don't think you can expand the Mini brand too far. If you were serious about making a brand and expanding it, you wouldn't have based it on something of a niche market. But if they can make a Mini SUV thing that has as good mileage as the Coopers and Clubman's do, and have it succeed, than go for it.

That paint scheme reminds me of the Bugatti Veyron Fbr.
