I just picked up an FJ today in Metallic today! I gotta say it is the perfect complement to the S2000. Wanna go to the canyons or the track? Grab the S. Wanna go to Home Depot or snowboarding? Take the FJ!

The last time I had a car catch my eye like this was when the S2000 came out, and I got one of those, too.
If the rain lets up tomorrow, I'm gonna slap some Z1 and Z2 on both cars and take some pics.

SUVs may be down some, but they are definitely not even close to out of the picture. Still a lot of money to be made from them.

I checked out the FJ last week and liked it alot until I saw the window sticker. There were $5K in addons and $5k in additional dealer markup for a total of almost $38,000.00 without TTL. The salesman said they are a limited production vehicle and they might get down to MSRP in a year. I wouldn't even drive the vehicle with that kind of price. This is a niche market vehicle and I think our dealer has completely missed the boat.
i work for toyota as well and the district toyota mangers over here pleaded and begged the owner/gm to not mark then up over sticker price since they are so in demand.

as far as right now each dealer in my district have rec'd 3 (that i know of) and they were all sold the same day they came in (where i work at least). they will be really showing up about the end of this month. the wholesale manager saw a $29000 MSRP FJ go for $36000 at manheim yesterday they are honestly saying that if you would buy it and then not like it in 6 months you could sell it privately and at least get your money back

it is a love or hate relationship with this bad boy, evident here.

That's awesome, congrats.

Can't say I'm not a bit jealous though...

I'd never consider buying an SUV ever.....however, I have a history with the original FJ-40 and have to say that I think Toyota, finally, may have hit me with something I want. And compared to its competitors the towing capacity of the FJ-40 might be good enough to tow my S2000 to events.....

Congrats on your Hummer - Element cross breed. Toyota did a good job on this vehicle.

I'm interested to know what kind of gas mileage owners will be experiencing. The gearing of the FJ will probably mean 17-18 mpg highway.

Its funny how almost every new car that comes to market is always "limited production" to justify an insane dealer markup.
HAHA, yeah I went to the toyota dealership and discussed the FJ with a salesman and he was trying to convince me these will be really limited production because Toyota doesn't want what happened with the Camry to happen with this (referring to selling so many that you can get a year or two old one for a enormous discount when going with used ) This was his excuse for a big addendum on top of the MSRP, I told him and pointed to my car outside, I said "yeah just like my car when they first came out right? They were only going to make it for one year, so the addendums were rediculous. Look what happened five years later and I bought mine brand new...is that "limited production" to you?"

What was hilarious was that I he actually compared the FJ to the residual value of a Supra. I had to just laugh. Salemen kill me
