Saturn Vue attacks the hybrid market
$22,995 for a mid-sized SUV with 27/32 EPA rating. Not bad at all. Damn.
Anyone that needs more utility than the smaller Prius and Civic can step into this for LESS money and get a good vehicle at a great price. They redesigned the Vue last year, so don't knock it until you've seen interior pictures and the decent redesign on the exterior.

Yes the V6 model of the Vue uses the 3.5L from Honda. One of the best kept secrets regarding a good car value. With the redesign of the Vue interior and exterior plus the nice 3.5L from Honda attached to a great price makes for a very competitive SUV. Most people don't shop Saturn though when looking for SUV's or even cars for that matter.
Anyway, to answer your question Mark, this hybrid powertrain is a GM sourced 4 cylinder and hybrid system.

Still needs a COMPLETE exterior redesign, but a nice value. They will sell many.
My two problems........
Won't tow my small boat's 2200 pounds. Won't take my GM card dollars.
And since GM is NOT listening I will yell this at the wall, your up-model 5 cylinder from the Colorado puts out more power and torque and gets better milage than the 6 in the Equinox. Maybe you should offer the five in the Equinox/Torrent. DUH.

The VUE sucks my balls. It is awful.
Here's a review of the 4-banger one I drove:
I failed to address the MASSIVE panel gaps on the exterior and the molding lines all over the inside plastics, but they were present as well. If they threw a world-class drivetrain in there, MAYBE I could get over all the other shit, but I highly doubt it.
I wish that I had more hands, so that I could give those Saturns...FOUR THUMBS DOWN!

Eww, gag me. I rented a VUE this weekend for a SE CT-to-Laguardia dash, and that thing absolutely sucked! It was one with the redesigned nose, no AWD, and about 1500 miles on it. It sounded like a tractor with that loud engine which had NO balls whatsoever, the silver trim pieces on the steering wheel were loose, the center console stack stuck out so far to the left that my leg had to be right against it in order to get my foot squarely on the gas pedal, and worst of all, the steering was both loose and twitchy at the same time: there was a HUGE dead spot where you could turn the wheel about 5-10* in either direction with no movement whatsoever, but immediately past that it would dart left or right. It was completely non-linear. I couldn't wait to dump that POS off back onto the Hertz people.
