Disagree all you want, but my experience has been, after the 1-1.5 hour mark, my back hurts.. and I drove my Viper cross country without the same problem. That's a car that you would expect to beat you up.

We drove the S down to Orlando, ~2 hours, and we were both pretty comfortable. FTR, it's an '07 with stock shocks, ASD springs, aftermarket 18" wheel/tire setup.

I don't think it's so much agree/disagree since it's totally subjective and people's tolerances vary _way_ too much. I had people tell me my base suspension C5 Corvette was way too stiff

Hell, we drove my Supra to Atlanta (~6 hours) and it had a stiff aftermarket setup (TEIN, TRD, etc.) and it didn't bother us much either. However, we're also both constantly liquored up, so maybe that's a big factor.

Longest stint I've done in an S is 8 hours, vs four in a Sky, and I can compare the two and say the Sky has a more compliant ride.

I think its a car to car thing. The Corvette and Solstice are/were chrome free. The Corvette added a bit inside but very little and generally tasteful.

The Sky went the opposite way.

Both can look good when done right.
Vette comes with chrome wheels stock - Amerikunz want chrome, or so GM thinks.

I think there's a little "chrome mentality" leftover from the ol' school days of the 50/60's (which we know based on some of the domestic business models, is still alive and well).

I'm not 100% but I believe chrome Vette wheels are still an option (the base are just painted silver), but it seems like tons of dealer stock is ordered with chrome, since they shur is pretty an' all.

I think they are optional, not standard but yes, I forgot about the chrome wheels. My brother's '05 had nary an ounce of chrome.

they pulled out because they couldn't find anyone to manufacture cars for them after their agreement with GM ran out.

Ah, thanks. Yeah, I wasn't sure how the deal would be executed since the manufacturing seemed to be a separate consideration (i.e., Penske wouldn't buy and take over that infrastructure, just the brand/marketing and maybe future development.).

That's s shame, so they're totally TU I guess.
