DSG is not currently available in any production Porsche. S/b coming around '08 or '09.
The Tiptronic transmission is quicker than the manual in a straight line.

^ It's not tiptronic either. Why the so complicated names? It should be just CLUTCH LESS!!! Porsche was the first to prove the "auto" was faster than a manual on a production car. Everyone else is catching up now to those F1 techs. I love the clutch but someday I might get over it. When I get the GTR I will have an S2000 to give me real pleasure (the mistress) .

Autos don't suffer as much performance loss on turbos b/c they lose less boost during the faster upshifts vs. a traditional manual tranny. Put that same tranny in an S2000, and it would be much slower than the manual. There's no F1 tech in Porsche's automatic tranny...unless I've somehow overlooked the torque convertor in some F1 car.

I think you meant to say "You are not right." Because in that press release, it clearly says "Quick with the six-speed manual transmission, [B]even quicker with the 5-speed Tiptronic

Some people are okay with drinking $5000 single malt scotch on weekends and Jim Beam on weekdays.
As for the attitude change, it is what it is.

1. I'd get the 911 turbo.
2. The 911 turbo is supposed to be not a great drive like the gt3
3. ckit if you debadge the turbo, it is still easy to tell what it is the 08 turbo is visually distinct from the lesser 911's.
4. rock it Seung. i want to get a car i can't drive all the time but I just want it. COSTS BE Damned. I work my balls off for a certain lifestyle.

gee...that is a pretty tough one...............I'm a big Porsche guy so my vote goes for the 911. But we'll see if my mind changes when I see a GT-R on the street.
