S60R for $399 x 36, $7000 up front
its a new MY05, fully loaded auto. Seems like a good deal, but the $7000 initial payment is a bit steep and I have no idea how this car is selling. I've rarely seen one, even in northern CA (Volvo mecca) where I'm at

Yes, its 36 month, and probably 10 or 12K miles per year. That's the offer that was sitting on the car as soon as I walked in the door. $7000 is a lot of money.
What good lease deals are out there in the $35,000 to $60,000 MSRP. MB has E350 for $579 mo x 39, with $2900 cap cost reduction + $795 acquistion fee + $579 1st month, which means only $4,274 at signing. Can you still negotiate above these big promotions, and are they real, or are they just to get you in the door.
Sorry if I seem naive, I've never leased a vehicle before. Thanks for everyone's help. Car shopping is both exciting and scary at the same time.

Usually cap cost should stay around 10% of vehicle cost. Go to fleetrates.com I leased my RX330 from them when they just came out. The local dealer said there was no way they could match the quote and eventual lease price they gave me. Talk to Daris, he is the guy who handled our transaction. Ask your Volvo dealer how much the payments are if you put 10% cap reduction instead of the 15% they want to charge. Should be about $4500 after fees. Using my math that should increase the payment by about $70/month, which will rase it to $470/month before taxes. Not such a great deal to me since I leased a 330i, a $42K car, for $517/month after all the taxes and fees. I'm guessing the S60R will be about the same.

Thanks, after hearing this deal from everyone, I decided to start a new. I'm now looking at $374 x 39 for 36,000 total miles, and about $1500 walk off.
