this is an S2000 board...
So probably most here will say S2000. Also (I hear) RX-7s are money pits. Not that any car can't have it's problems, but with the RX you will have to rebuild the engine (from what I hear). If you factor that into the price are they any cheaper than the S2000?

I loved my Rex - I'll never forget it, and it is superior to the S in performance and fun, but lets remember, the S is an outstanding car, and the RX-7 is old and expensive to repair, and finding a good tech to work on it can be difficult. Today, I'd take the S for its newness, high performance levels and superior reliability.

I almost bought one as well before I bought the S..it was a very high contender on my list.
However coming from an already fully modded 99 Eclipse GST which did have certain common unreliablity issues...I just didn't want to deal with another unreliable car, however supposedly replacing the apex seals helps a lot on RX7's under high boost? But I wanted something fun, quick (fast would be good too ), incredible handling, and reliable. The S fit my criteria, and I love it...although the thoughts and wish for money to turbo or SC it are always there.

10 mpg. Doesn't handle that great either. Cheap, creaky plastics, maintenance nightmare. S2000 by far.

I have driven both...I don't own either.
I drove a slightly modded rx7 1993 R1. DP, Cat Back
and a slightly modded 00 S2000. Exhaust, lowered, Intake
The rx7 would smoke it in a straight line, smoke it in the corners, and is BY FAR more comftorable inside. Its like luxury when compared to a small cramped s2000.
The s2000 is paired much closer to my modded prelude in terms of handling and straight line speed...while the rx7 is MUCH faster.

You know, I love how as the years go by and memories become blurry, people have somehow in their minds transformed stock ~14 second flat Supras and RX-7s into freakin' rocketships.

sorry buddy, the FD (RX-7) is not a stock 14 sec car - touring model, maybe, but the R1/R2 models or even the base w/o the bose system is 1/4 mile 13.5 sec stock, 0-60 4.9 sec. top speed is 158mph.
