S2k VS. 370z
#11
Havent drove a 370 but the clutch/shifter action in the 350 was horrible to be honest. It feels sloppy and the car isnt as tossable as an S. The torque is there for sure but it didnt really feel much faster than my tuned S( HRs and the 370 is significantly faster though). The Z is more roomy inside and would definitely be a better DD. With that said I have been dailying my car for almost 6 years and I have no complaints.
I am not too sure if the 370 has better shift action but that aspect alone turned me off from the 350.

stock to stock Z can be faster.
more power and more grip.
at some roads S will be faster.
2 plagues of Z are engine overheating and brakes that give up too quickly.
if you plant to put some load on the Z - oil cooler and brake ducting are a must.

370Z is a pretty nice car. Nowhere close to as precise feeling as an s2k though. They have more torque which could be good for daily driving but they really look and feel bloated. As someone else said its a nice GT car. Definitely not a nimble sports car compared to the s2k.
S2k plus boost would blow the z away in every way possible.
Sounds like you like the Z though so go for that. Takes a certain kind of person to appreciate the s for what it is. Gives you a feel that barely any other car will.

Ummm not really. The 370Z comes in coupe and roadster form with manual and automatic gear boxes which both have rev matching. The 370Z I lust after is a roadster in Dark Cherry paint with the matching wine leather interior. Don't know why but this combination makes the car look really good to me while the red or silver paint makes the car look like a fat toad.

Another reason as to why I'd rather get the Z.. I live in Seattle lol. It's sunny 3 months out of the year and it rains for the rest! If I lived in Cali, I would probably go with the S.
I don't doubt that the S is more fun and all, because I know it really is!

I'm happy to see you've made a decision and are content with it. I don't think I'd call the S more fun. It's just different. Honestly, there are times when I don't really NEED to FEEL what all four tires are doing as you do in the S. Sometimes, a little road isolation is okay.

We generally swap cars occasionally.
370z owners feedback of the S2000:
- go-kart handling
- tons of grip
- very lively feel
- tons of fun
- cramped (5' 9" and taller drivers)
- poor visibility behind, to the sides
- torqueless wonder
My feedback of the 370z:
- Interior is very very nice!
- Gauges and instrumentation that actually works
- SynchroRev is bloody amazing! And you can turn it off
- TORQUE!!!
- Lowered, turn-in is significantly improved.
- The exhaust note is much much much better
