I would only go Z06 if I get a vette,

the non Z06 vettes are reserved for older dudes. Mid life crisis types. The only young guy I ever seen in a Vette was Steve Sanders from Beverly Hills 90210

i like the newer vettes too!!!

What is the gas mileage on corvette??
They get about 24-26 mpg freeway and 19 or so around town. Assuming you can keep your foot out of it.

I'd do it. I considered it a while back. I just don't like the C5 Z06 hardtops...I prefer the styling of the coupe. As far as image goes, the same thing can be said about S2000s...instead of old dudes, its asian FOBs drivin them.

I just sold an immaculate red 98 coupe, dirt cheap...I'm still kicking myself for letting it go that cheap.

i'm thinkin of selling my MY03 s2000 for a 99-02 vette.

what do u guys think? the only things i can think of

s2000
Pro: smaller, better handling during canyon drives (which i love), i love driving it its fun. will last for loads of miles.
con: its slow... and no torque... i want something faster with a nice punch

the same: about the price of gas and maintanence. and insurance will be the same also (i checked)

C5 vette
Pro: faster, better looking IMO, its a vette
con: doesnt handle as well, cant goto canyons (as fast as s2000), doesnt last as long (or will it if u take care of it and dont abuse it, and change its oil orderly, etc)

thanks.
you pertty much covered it.

and maintenance is more expencive on the vette also.

C5 vettes are nice if you want torque, want to build a fwy monster or to impress the ladies. But the S2000 is something special, record holder, 50/50, hand assembled, when you drive it you get the a feeling that very few cars can give you.

when I got my S2000 it was between my S and a Black 6spd couple (not hatch) C5.I went with the S2000. The C6 Z06 is a different story, I would love to have one.

Oh if you want more power, go boost. It'll be faster than a C5

'vettes are total DUDE magnets. If you wanna impress (gold-diggin' mind you) ladies, get a ferarri or lambo.

Why not have both?!?! We do! But I will admit...I'd MUCH rather drive my S, but it is nice having the option.
