College kicks the crap outta cars...keep that in mind when you buy. You MIGHT be better served buying something a little older and modding it. That way you won't be quite as worried about the car and can focus on what college is really about...learning about how to play the game of life...

Let me also say that I am 18 too. I scored a sweet job with a local computer startup and the first place I went was the Honda dealer. I test drove the S2k and fell in love. I was eager to sign my name and drive the car off the lot that day but decided to go home and do a little bit more research. All I have to say is check insurance prices. If the car is in your name you're going to be paying a f*ckload. I got quoted $14,000/yr for full coverage (which you'll need, unless you're paying cash). Essentially, they're betting you're going to wreck the car in two years or less. Really sucks.
