s2k? or turbo rsx-s?
hey whats up guys, this is my first post on this site, im planing on getting a
s2k soon, im getting a lot of information from this site, like i said, im
considering of getting a s2k. the reason being that i current own a rsx-s, i
don't know if you guys like this car but it's pretty nice. i was planning on
getting a turbo for that car, and it got me thinking........ if i were to spend
close to 5 g's on a nice turbo maybe i should consider getting a high
performance car like a s2k. what i want you guys to do is tell me if you were
in my situtation would you do that same thing? im currently 18, going to
college, and like driving fast cars.... some of my friends has nice cars, like nsx,
rx7, viper, m3, and other sports coupes like mine....... i haven't done ANY to
my rsx yet, and thinking that if i were to get the s2k i rather spend that
money to mod it. would you guys consider having a everyday car as a s2k as
a only car? it's a good in snow? ( snows maybe 4 times a year here) are
the aftermarket parts expensive ?
Well whatever you're thinking are now, please drop a line and press reply, thanks guys

WOW.. u and ur friends must be working alot or rich... gee...
i would get teh s2k.. just becuase i love the car... they have two different purposes... if u take a civic and soup it up its still a civic... the s2k is built for more aggressive driving and instense driving situations....
as far as parts go... ive heard most of the stock parts are pretty hard to beat... i may be wrong... and it depends on the kinda parts and quality u want... but at the minimum.. it still wont be cheap.. well to me it will be expensive as hell...
ur a lucky guy.. man... thats GREEN with envy...

Who is paying for the S2K? If your parents are paying for it, go for it, rather than spending $5K on a turbo for the RSX-S. As soon as you "heavily" mod a car, its value drops to the floor. Besides, unless you are a Mechanics, you would have to bring it to the shop a lot for people to look at/fix.
If you have to pay for the S2K yourself, I would say "no", because you are only 18 and you should be concentrating on school work, rather than work 25 hrs a week just for the car.
RSX-S is a very nice car, one of the nicest FWD cars. Drive it for a few years and when you get out of college, you can get your 2006/2007 S2K.

I will throw in my .02 here. I will give a vote for keeping the RSX. If you like to mod your car, the S2K is not the car for you. Most things come just the way they should be stock, and you get very little to no gains from most performance parts. The few parts that do exist are expensive. Without snow tires the S2k is not good in snow at all. As for daily livability, I would say that it is not good, the ride is stiff, inside is small, noisy....etc... Very expensive to maintain (tires every 10k miles). Now that all being said I love my S2K and wouldn't trade it for anything. It is just a very specialized car for a specific task.

My .02 on the subject...keep the RSX. It's a sweet little car, handles well, and is a little more practical for college life. I mean, you can't get a beer keg to fit in the back of an S2k.
I had a Honda Accord hatchback when I was in college and that car was PERFECT. Handled reasonably well (for a family car), could fit a keg in the back, plenty of room for bikes/skis/dead people in the back with the seats down...

People are more impressed with fast non-NA cars
People are more impressed with fast cars that are NA.
So, are people more impressed with Normal or Abnormal Aspiration?
