s2k Replacement, Accordng to Road and Track

Well, again, you ll really need to read this part of this mag and look at the pics. In doing so, we all have to remember that car mags are sometimes wrong in their predictions. What the mag states is that the S2000 IS going to be discontinued at some unspecified tome, and the RL - based XGA will be the Honda branded "sports car". From my look at the pic of the prototype of this car, from the fact that it is based on the RL platform, and from the fact that it will have a V8 (or maybe a V10) engine, my initial guess would be that it will weigh about 1200 lbs more than the s2k, and be maybe 18" to 2' longer. From the pic, the prototype car would seem to have more in common with the Mercedes CL grand touring coupe than the current s2k. Not a bad car, but just a totally different kind of car. If the mag is right, Honda will soon abandon the small, lightweight sports car/roadster market. As for pics, I lack the ability to scan pics from a mag, and then post them on this board. Just look at the mag at a place where car mags are sold.
Thanks,
Richard

I just read this while shopping at my local supermarket.Looks like the S2000 is dead.Personally I think the XGA and new NSX look pretty blah visually regardless of whatever HP they have.
I remember when I had my GSR I was waiting for the new version to upgrade then the RSX came out which was pretty disappointing to me so I got an S2K.
When I get bored with my S I'll just move on to another car which shouldn't be too soon.

Ha ha ha. Looks like a cross between a Tiburon and an RX-8

Speaking of RX-8, not many people consider it the replacement of the RX-7, but it is the successor. And I really, really, hope its not called the XGA when it goes into production. ex gay, ex ga, ten gay, etc... its like naming your son Melvin.
