I remember test driving a MSM in 2004 when I was looking to buy a roadster. It was fun but just too cramped and its a small car. As fun as it is, I felt it could have used a bit more power as well. Thus, I opted for the S.

Just gonna repost this.

KBB for MSM: 15,080 excellent (trade in) and 17,145 excellent (private party).
KBB for S2K: 13,650 excellent (trade in) and 15,950 excellent (private party).

MSM is worth at least 1k more.
It might be worth looking at the price premium of a regular Miata vs the MSM and then extrapolating the extra value. Then, look at the CR as a limited edition S and see what its value increase is worth.
I think KBB adds a little too much value to the MSM. But I see them go for 15k all day long which is where his S2K should go. The MSM will be a little slower out of the box but it's also 300 pounds lighter. It also has two cupholders (!).

Once again, just drive it. If you like it more than the S2K then go for it. A year later you won't think about whether the trade was worth it if you truly enjoy the car more; all you'll think of is how happy you are you have the car.

Wasn't there a TV that had everybody do a challenge at buttonwillow racing solstice GXP's? I mean it was a full on race against everybody.

At the time I was like oh wow, but now that the solstice is gone the way of the dodo, these recent pontiac GXP's (solstice and G8) are going to fetch a premium to the right buyer as years go on.

And yes, why get a MZM if you are coming from a S2000, IF you have a chance to get the Solstice GXP/Sky Redline. That motor is a beast, you can ECU tune it at the dealer and still keep warranty (if there is one left)
