s2k for mazdaspeed miata?
got an offer for a LOW MILEAGE mazdaspeed miata, its got 24k miles. its an 05. my s2k is an 04 with 85k miles. however my s2k is one of the cleanest for its mileage too with clean history. he's willing to straight trade. it's a really tough choice for me but his car has clean title with low mileage. plus it's got a turbo and definitely has potential.
should i pull the trigger???

see if he wants to trade for a week so you can both get a feel for the other. i've gone through four mazdas including two mazdaspeeds and they are good cars. fun, cheap, and easy to work on. obviously it's gonna be a different experience than the S2000 but turbos are fun!

I like the MX5 for its performance and bang for the buck. I don't like its appearance. So based off looks alone I'd stick to the S. I don't know about the NC's performance but I'd much rather prefer the S over the NA Miatas I've driven in terms of speed and handling characteristics.

It's probably pretty close to straight trade if you just look at what the cars go for. I'd just do a simple KBB and do the difference between your two cars. But it seems like the MSM has the higher KBB.
KBB for MSM: 15,080 excellent (trade in) and 17,145 excellent (private party).
KBB for S2K: 13,650 excellent (trade in) and 15,950 excellent (private party).
The MSM is definitely a fun car, simple boltons and you're close to 200 WHP in that. The turbo on the MSM is sort of small, so you can't get much higher than that. The aftermarket is a lot cheaper but if you're spending money on your MSM why can't you spend it on the S2K. I'd test drive it, if you haven't, there are some intangibles that the MSM will have that the S2K won't. The opposite is also true, the S2K will have things the MSM won't. It honestly depends on which car suits what you want out of a car.
