S2000 VS EVO 8
Im at work working the whole night and one of the janitors just got a used 2000 s2000 for 22k from his dads friend...spent about 30minutes just drooling over the thing...iv always wanted one of those and have driven a friends 01 back in kansas city...BUT iv always said i would get a used EVO 8 RS when i get out of school, shat maybe even a n MR evo..so just have to ask which one do you guys think is the best platform that is FUN to drive...i dont just want a car that is fast, i want something i get excited everytime i drive...this would be for track, autox, spirited driving, no drag racing.

You started this EXACT same thread on the EvoM.net board. There have been a zillion comparisions......
My stock Evo was faster around a track than I could get my stock S2000....
My stock Evo was faster at drag racing too.... higher trap speed, faster launching... (but the transmission takes a lot of abuse to do it).
The Evo's tranny is not nearly as nice as the S2000.... Evo is uglier by far....
overall "fun" is subjective... probably the S2000... makes more noise, shifts better.... Evo wins in the pure "performance" comparo though.

Get the Evo...
1. you listen to emo
2. I really hate these damn threads comparing things... especially this one because as previously stated, you started this exact same topic on the other site.

Well I just traded my 02 S2K for a EVO 8 and I must say they both have their positives and negatives. One the EVO has a real powerband from the factory and is very fast all the time. The S2000 is fast once you get it going. The shifting is a lot better in the S2000 as Scot said above, the EVO has notchy shifting that I never experienced in the S. I chose to get the EVO because I wanted something bigger and more usable on a regular basis, the S2000 is a fine daily driver as long as you are used to it and dont mind the noise. Obviously my vote would be EVO at this time.

Have you tried the underhood bushings? or the shifter bushings? I bought the shifter ones (haven't installed it yet), and am gonna get the underhood ones as soon as any store has them in stock. People rave about it, and how it gets rid of the slop.
I did finally kill my clutch at 17k miles after a bunch of abuse..... stupid mitsubishi's...hahhaha
