S2000 vs. Audi S4
here's the scenario: s2k (stock) vs. s4 (stock)
-driver's drive exactly the same (as in "stickshift skills")
-your at the 1/4 mile track
who would win?
what if conditions were a little wet?
how about from a like 20mph roll?
any guesses...

As long as it were cool outside, it would be damn close...the s2k would likely pull a little. From what I have heard, and I do not profess this to be fact, but if it were hot as hell outside, the S4 would loose quite a bit more power when compared to the s2000.

From what I have seen, S4's and S2000's seem to run almost exactly the same. I think I have seen 14.1 sec for both cars in a few car mags. If it was wet out, the S4 would easily win due to traction.

If drivers equal, I think the S4 would have the edge. But not by much at all. All due cuz of the quattro system. S4's are nice cars as long as they are'nt broke. At my local Audi dealer i seem to see S4's in for service there all the time. I heard the two turbos are not so reliable...hmmm

What about the 20MPH roll? I think that the S4 may have an advantage, albeit a very slight one due to the gobs of lowend torque, and ability to gain traction easier than the S. I say this only because when I race my modded VW Golf which has a powerband much like the S4, minus the AWD, the S has a harder time keeping up when racing from a rolling start in comparison to a stopped start.
