Honda vs Elise?
I'm an ex-pat.
I owned an Elise for 14 months (1999). Drove 14k miles, 4K of that on nearly ever race track in the UK. (Anglesey in Wales is my favorite as its short and twisty and the drive though the welsh mountains is fantastic, especially when you in a convoy of 6-12 Elis's going fairly flat out! Donnington was 20 minutes from home is really cool as well!). Bigger and faster cars like M3's, TVR's, Esprit

Did I mention I owned one....
If you're a real driver, you will not regret it.
Cheers

(I apologies for being abit passionate about the Elise but you really spend time with one to realize how great they are!)

I'm seriously thinking about selling my S2K in 2004 and getting one if they have any left.

I'm getting my Elise in April 2004. Goodbye S2K !!!
I don't think the Elise will be hell to maintain, though... there's not much in it that can break, after all. The powertrain is Toyota... the suspension and frame ??? what ever goes wrong with those? There's an A/C and stereo... but I'll probably rip those out anyway for less weight and more HP !!!

To all the cynics:
If you who own an S2K and wouldn't buy an Elise, you're a damn hypocrite.
The S2K is not a luxury car... it's a sports car. You bought it because the editors and writers all said "this is the purest sports car ever".
Well guess what? It's NOT anymore. The Elise spanks it in every category pertinent to driving.
No, it's not as reliable... No, it's not as comfortable... No, it's not as good a daily driver.
Great... thank you for the ingenious rebuttals... now shut up and go buy an Accord.

In a way, I agree with transio. I read so many postings of S2k owners going off about how they think the '04 sucks because it's 'softened' up and not as pure a sports car as the previous S2Ks. And now something more pure and raw is out and I will bet that most will say that it is too much raw.

I'm going to wait for a year or two to see if any bugs present themselves but I'm all about the new U.S. spec Elise.
