I don't use Ebay, but it looks like the auction has a reserve price. So if you bid the minimum (there were no bids at the time I checked), even if nobody else bids, you are not strictly responsible, are you? Since it did not meet the reserve price. So in that case, I think anyone can bid on this car, so long as they don't exceed the reserve price, they are off the hook. Is that correct? Maybe someone can educate me on how Ebay works.
I think it would be so cool to tell your friends that you "almost bought a ..." or "I let a ... get away because I didn't bid high enough".

Whoa, there are two 360 Modena's up for auction from Expo Motorcars. Besides the Spyder F1 pointed to above (which has an automatic transmission), there is also a "plain" 360 Modena coupe with a manual transmission. The coupe has 10x the mileage of the Spyder F1, but it is "only" at $140,000 instead of the $245,000 for the Spyder. But there is already a bid on the coupe.
