Think about it... Back in 2000-2001, who would have thought Honda would still be making this car in 2008?

Saturn didn't stick to that policy when the Sky first came out, that's for sure. There were a number of reports of boosted sticker prices.

The EVO's wing is functional as hell, and that went over real well with the general public, including some of us on this board <sarcasm>.
If the question "would I rather have more power or functional aero pieces added to the s2000?" were asked, I'd take the power. I can strip the interior and reduce weight myself without a problem, for Honda to do that for me and add a body kit and have the nerve to charge me more is another thing.
You have to understand, a car is going to come with a front bumper cover, rear bumper cover, seats, etc. Think of it this way, 40 grand and you get a car that has a lot of aesthetics done for you... but in truth most forget about the cost of the stock bits and pieces that can go for a lot like your seats for instance. So the "addition" of things like the front bumper, or different steering gear is just retarded, why not just put it for the entire line?
Add the AC, the motor, and the radio back in and that massive weight savings suddenly doesn't seem so massive anymore, so what are you really paying for?
I'm sorry, I'd rather take the savings and add my own rice.
I love my S2000, I just wish that Honda stopped messing around and actually come up with another real update. Leave it alone or really update the car.
