I bet that most CR's being sold at dealership's will have a/c and radio.

It doesn't make sense b/c they just made a ghetto cf painted radio door. They should have made a block off plate. I guess they think you can use it as a glove box or something.

That's the dirty secret of the sports car world. Everyone "claims" to want a stripped-out hardcore version of their favorite car, but then no one buys them. Even famed racers like the Miata that had a club racing version were extremely slow sellers. Porsche GT2/3 cars sell well now, but back in the era of the 964 RS Americas, Porsche dealers could hardly GIVE those cars away, and that was at a $10k savings over a Carrera 2 (of course, RSAs are now in demand and command a hefty premium). Of course, the Ferrari 360 CS sold well, but you could take a dump in the front boot of a 430 and call it the Club Racing Action Pack and get a $25k premium for it. Even the Elise, though, aside from a cult following, can't find many buyers in the "mainstream" sports car market.
People talk a good game, but very rarely follow through on their promises to buy these stripped specials.

People want ALL of their luxuries and comforts but want the lightest, most performance oriented car possible at the same time.
This is simply not feasible for a mainstream vehicle. Vehicles like that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Buyers have to make compromises for performance; that's what a sports car is.
Personally, I can't wait to get my Elise. I will drive it every single day happily.

Did they release a spec for the tires on the S2000 BR? Probably the only worthwhile things they added were the tires, rims, and "more agressive" front and rear stabilizers. Anyone have the specs on these items?
I think the macho "Boy Racer" crowd would rather put their own hideous wing and front facia on. I don't think this will sell well.

I love everything about the CR except no softtop. Everyone knows how "predictable" mid-west weather can be. I still would want the option of putting the top in an emergency.

They've got big wings because they RACE (not just HPDE or open track days) their cars, and are very successful at it. I know Doug has a spare trunklid he attached the wing to, and he swaps it on for track days and takes it off for street driving.
