S2000 after BMW 335i?
#12
I went from an s2k to a 335 and really miss the s2k. The 335 does everything well but its pretty sedate. Don't get me wrong I love the 335 but theres really nothing like throwing the top down and wringing that little motor's neck.

I don't know. I recently test drove a 335i and now I want to trade my S2000 for one. It's so nice, luxurious, and powerful compared to the S2000.
On another note, I couldnt buy another brand new s2k 8 years later knowing that Honda didnt give the car a proper update. I fear you would quickly get tired of it.

I'm leasing an '07 335i sedan and I own an '02 S2K.
I love my S2K but when I bought it 4 years ago I did so with the understanding that it would never be a daily driver. It's too small, too noisy, the ride is too rough, it has no cargo space for Home Depot runs or bike trips, etc etc. It's awesome to cruise up and down the canyon on the weekends with the top down or take out to a track event on a weekend, but...
...For all other uses, the 335i is WAY, WAY better. It's smoother, quieter, much faster, way more refined, far more practical in terms of usable space, has a phenomenal stereo from the factory and even gets similar gas mileage to the S2K if you don't flog it too badly.
If the S2K were to be your only car, I think you will quickly miss the 335i.

I drove a 335i and ABSOLUTEY loved it for all the reasons you stated. I could not sell my S for one though. Its too large and grown for me. I will trade my S for the 135i though...yea its not as gorgeous as the 3..its kinda funky but it has character. But most importantly, its got that N54!!

Anyways, S2000 is a great load of fun for the money. Also consider a Corvette, Elise, and Boxster S. All great cars, you can't go wrong with any of the 4.

I also went from the S2000 to a 335 coupe and don't really miss the S. The 335 does everything and it is so modable
In your situation, a S is definitely a great second car for the track and weekend spirited drive.
If I could, I would have a S as a second car. But for me, I needed a all around daily driver and track car and the 335i does pretty well as both.
