S2000 after BMW 335i?
Hi everyone,
Currently I am driving an 07 335I 6sp manual sedan, the lease will be up at the end of the year so I am starting early and thinking what I want next. My family used to own an 00 S2k which we sold after 60k on it. It was so much fun and in typical Honda fashion never needed any work, maintenance was very reasonable.
So I love Honda's..I had an 88 prelude 4WS, 04 Accord, 06 Civic Si (Loved it), and maybe next the 08 S2k.
To me the 335 does everything well..from speed to handling, to quality and feature..it even has a pretty decent stereo. So for me..this car pretty much is all I would ask for. But..I have gotten out of my cars after 1 year for the last 6 years..I just like to try new things.
However I always go back to Honda (my wife and I share an 07 Fit Sport which we absolutely love!) and I think I would like to get into another S2k.
I think I could give up my creature comforts and all for this car..it's just way too much fun. Plus since I already have the Fit as my DD, I could go for a sports car/Vert. I had been thinking of a Boxster, but they are just way too much $, and I'd rather not go used unless I know the history.
I am digging the Rio Yellow
Little afraid they won't be making an 09 S2k..so I might find an 08 this summer and keep the 2 cars for 5 months which I really don't want to do...but I want to get back into another S2k.
Thoughts?

Sounds like you really like the S2000. All I could say is that coming from a 335i (which is a wonderful car), you may miss the instant power that comes from torque. I've looked at Elises, but never driven one, and their build quality just doesn't impress, for whatever that's worth. I've also read that there are issues with the integrity of their chassis tubs, but I have no idea about this. Do you like Corvettes (someone's going to throw it out there if it isn't me)? There are great deals out there on '08 C6s. There are also tons of mint used Boxster Ss out there. I wouldn't worry too much abou the history on a mint car with next to no miles. But, if you really love the S2000, they are still great sports car deals (though I think Rio yellow looks identical to taxi cab yellow). Good luck.

I have both an 06' S2k and a 335i Coupe.I leased the 335i coupe and the lease will be up in Dec 08,after that who knows..I do find the S2k more fun and involving to drive but thats because its just my blast around the mountains car.I put a great stereo in mine and am thinking about that Kraftwerks Supercharger.I think the S2k is at the end of its run but its still one hell of a great ride and the competion is way more expensive. You might want to consider an 08' C6 after coming off that 335i, great car and best bang for the buck out there.

what's the residual on the 335i? maybe u can buy it off at the end of the term and trade it with someone on this board, as it seems lots of s2k owners would love to hop into the 335i.
get a used s2k and force induct it with stock SC/turbo kit boost for longevity and some extra oomph that you'll most likely be missing after driving the 335i for a while.
