I have both

As much as I like the S2000 (that's why I bought it) the FD is in another league. Putting the reliability issue aside, there's no other car in the US that I can think of that can really compare to the FD for under 100K (Ferraris, Lambos, etc.)

Timeless design....after more than 10 years this car still looks great. How many 10+ year cars still turn heads like the FD? Awesome power both stock and if you want to mod it. Great handling. This car was picked by 3 of the 6 editors as best handling car in America in 1992 by either car and driver or road and track (i think the other 3 split on the nsx/porsche). As others have said, look at how it's done in the autox and on the road courses, its record speaks for itself, even after newer cars came along. Then there's the intangibles....very limited numbers. off the top of my head there's less than 15k FDs in the US....it's NSX rare. Rotary engine makes it unique....love or hate the rotary, it's another thing that adds to it's character. The FD has it all - looks, power, handling, rare, unique. The S2000 just cannot compare, unless u really just want a roadster.

And oh, the reliability issue - it's been exaggerated. The FD is not the most reliable car, it doesn't have the best build quality...but also remember that a lot of people are bitching about a 10+ year old car that has been "abused" (people drive the car hard/mod the shit out of them).

Good luck finding an RX-7 that is not falling apart.

There are plenty actually. Why are you so negative? I was concerned about the reliability but it appears to be that you can find many that are in pristine shape.

I would say, based only on my butt dyno, that the RX-7 definitely accelerates faster and probably corners marginally better than the S2000. As a performance car, I would rather drive the RX-7, hands-down. However, as a daily driver, I went with the S2000, because it still offers great performance, and should be cheaper to maintain in the long run.

How can so much false information be on ONE thread?

I, like another individual have owned both. We sold the S2000. This topic has been discussed SOOO many times before I wonder why I even respond anymore

I will add this interesting note. I had ordered a blue by you EVO but the deal fell through
I just saw the pics of the 2004 S2000 and my eyes watered with love. That car is TIGHT!!! I think I may just revisit the past and own another S2000....
But this time I won't lie and say it is for the wife
