RX8 Predictions
There have been a few road tests and articles on the Mazda RX8. They all seem to claim that the RX8 has fantastic handling attributes. I can't imagine that the RX8 would be able to out handle an S2k on the track nor would it be able to match the straightline speed of an S2k - For those who have also read up on the RX8, what are your thoughts?

It's probably going to be more along the lines of the Infiniti or Maxima/altima. It's made more to be a "sporty" sedan, than a sports car. It sounds like it handles great, though I can't imagine in stock form it will be a track monster. Straightline, I'd guess mid/low 14's.

I don't know how you figure RX8 is going to be slower in straightline when it weighs the same as S2000 (maybe 30 lbs heavier if that) and makes a little more HP and TQ ????

The RX-8 tested has the grand touring package (traction control, moonroof, etc.) and I do not know if that's included in its curb weight. I assume it is...
