Default RS4 vs. M3 Mag Comparo

From Auto Express UK.

Cliff's notes: RS4 and M3 really about the same in the dry.

I still want to see wet/snow testing...

I don't care what the results are, the Audi is such a better looking car IMO. I would take the Audi.

First time I'd take an Audi over a BMW.

Man, that M3 has a dour interior. But, and I have no way of explaining this, Audis leave me totally cold. I just can't get excited about them. I'd go M3 sedan or wagon (dreaming) for the lower cost (should be about $10K here, right?), RWD, and less weight.

More weight for the M3 in this instance .... even though we're talking about 11pounds here.

No kidding. Guess I shoulda read the stat chart first (1655kg for M3 v. 1650kg for RS4). I thought the M3 would come in around 3,600lbs, while the RS4 comes in around 4,000lbs. But, I just checked the conversion, and 1655kg does come in around 3,600lbs. The weight figures that I've always seen for the RS4 put it around 4,000lbs. Maybe the weight figures from the article are off???

You guys have to remember that these posted "curb weights" of these BMW's include 75kg or 160 pounds for the driver. I cant wait for one of these M3post guys to weigh their m3 thats fully loaded with fuel. I'd bet its not 3600 lbs.
