Default Rock caused a crack in my windshield

What can I do without having to replace the windshield?

Can I do this myself or take it to a pro?

Insurance typically covers this at no cost. Why do it yourself?

I had same issue and State Farm doesn't do it for free. It was $65 to have done by someone like SafeLite that will come to your work etc. I would have someone do it for you so it is insured just in case there are issues later, but then again you can just wait it out too and if it gets bad a new windshield isn't THAT much more, normally ~$225.

I might just wait till it gets bigger, the rest of the windshield has little pits from just debris hitting the window over the years

I have had a couple rock chips filled in. Gerber Glass charges around $80, and if the crack ever continues to spread, you can have them replace the windshield, and they'll deduct the $80 from the replacement cost. Pretty good deal to me.

Have had several rock chips fixed. Good results every time. Prices have been about as indicated.
