Damn - I'm partial to the R8 but the Z06 is truly dead. The GT-R monstered even the 911 GT2.
What a car.
What a car.

The GT-R is a beast when it isn't broken. It will be a maintenance nightmare, certainly compared to the Z06 and ACR, et al.
Good luck to those that buy one!
Good luck to those that buy one!
I'll take the LP560-4

The spread between the top 4 cars was only .81 points, then it drops 2 more points to fifth rank. I would say for the layman driver, all four of the top cars are equal in performance and only your preference matters.

when I upgrade my car, it's gonna be either a Porsche or a Z06. I am leaning toward teh Z06 b/c of the price advantage (especially once the ZR1 comes out).

So now the GT-R is a reliability nightmare. And you gathered all this from the whopping 1 week that the GT-R has been on US streets?!
Please...the Z06 got monstered.

Its also interesting that they all have different configurations- MR, FR, 4WD, RR.

Dead is a bit of an overstatement. The car was hardly slow and the blame seemed primarily placed at the feet of the tires which aren't likely to last more that 10,000 miles anyway. Most of the cars that beat the Z06 cost quite a bit more. The GT-R is the only car that really embarrassed the Z06 in that it costs about the same (assuming both are bought for MSRP) yet the computers and the like allow it to really move. The Z06 is still one hell of a car. So is the GTR... but for the face only a mother could love.
You don't buy one for its stunning looks
You don't buy one for its abundant practicality
You don't buy one for its awesome interior
You don't buy one for its impecabble build quality
Yet for the same money, the GT-R destroys the Z06 in ALL FOUR of the performance tests for equal money. It incidentally offers decent practicality and a better interior, and better build quality (based on the comments of Z06 owners who have taken delivery of their GT-Rs on US soil).
Sounds to me like the Z06 is dead.

The Z06s sole reason for existence is PERFORMANCE.
