Default Road & Track or Car and Driver ?

I subscribe to C/D , but the past few months have read both. In my opinion, C/D covers the same cars as R&T a month earlier and in more detail.

Thoughts?

A lot of motor vehicle types included in C and D are ignored by R & T.

I've always followed C&D over the years. Some of it is what they cover and some is that they make me laugh (even when some of their opinions frustrate me). However, I really prefer Automobile Magazine for quality writing.

The UK mags that people constantly refer to around here are in a different league...better in many ways in my opinion...but also tend to cover things that are less relevant to those of us "stranded" in the US...

I thought that a few years back they merged and are owned by the same company. If so, there's your answer.

Peter Egan writes for R&T and he is fantastic, but I love C&D. Their comparos are great, and they do have some funny stuff in there. Did anyone see the write-up on the Caddy Escalade EXT in C&D. Hilarious.

I subscribe to C&D, Automobile, R&T and AutoWeek. The first thing I always read is Peter Egan. He also writes for Cycle World which I also subscribe to.

He is Automotive writings answer to Ernest Hemingway IMHO.

Hands down C&D. R&T is bed time reading material at best, and as for MT, well, I wouldn't even take it into the bathroom with me
