Thumbs down Ride safe during the holidays

I was hit by a drunk driver Halloween night this past weekend. I was heading home around 1:46 AM and a car turned right into me. I don't remember the actual accident. The last thing I remember was trying to avoid the car and waking up lying in the middle of the road. I had a concussion, tore both my knees open, and some road rash from sliding on my left side. Luckily that was the extent of my injuries and I was able to walk. The ambulance came and I stay overnight @ the hospital since i slammed head-on into the asphalt going 45-50 mph. Luckily I wore my HJC FS-15 helmet and Icon Fieldvest which save my life. My bike is totalled, but I'm thankful to still be alive let alone walk. Just sharing my story with you guys so hopefully it won't happen to anyone else. Don't stay out too late during the holidays and always wear your gear.

Be safe and have fun riding.

This sounds pretty weak, but I don't even ride at night anymore. Too many drunks, too much wildlife, idiots galore...

Wildlife is my #1 concern at the dusk/dawn hours. On my way to work I usually see no less that 3 deer on the road in front of me.

Update: I'm doing great. I have full coverage on my bike so I'm covered and the accident is under investigation. Here's some pics for you guys:

Not weak at all. I live in a very rural area, and I have never ridden at night. Then again, I don't think I'd ride at night regardless of where I lived.

Time to update the gear and invest in some leather pants. Boots?

Glad you're OK.
