345HP seems a little weak knowing what I know about the C6 engine, but I'm sure it can tuned back up to the 400+HP it should be making.

Typhoon's were soo cool...... 280hp but they had close to 400lb ft of torque..... they still are cool.....they had lots of mechanical problems, but......easily tweaked....mine ran 13.9X@97mph with just a catback exhaust...

wonder how much $ the new one will cost? It says it won't arrive for another 12-14 months..... time to save.

I would be surprised if it makes it all the way to production. Only idiots like Scot and myself would piss away that kind of money on a 'performance SUV'. It will probably be in the $50K range and will still have a 0-60mph time in the high 6's probably...maybe low 7's. It will have a limited towing capacity and will be virtually useless offroad.

Ah yes, I remember my Typhoon. Sometimes I see one and a tear comes to my eye. How I miss the 285 horsepower (I had a '93) and the 360 ft lbs of torque.

It was such a sleeper as well. Hardly anybody knew what they were, until all they could see were the taillights. 0-60 in 5.3 seconds back then (and now) is quite an accomplishment.

It used to drive my friend nuts in college. He hated the fact that it was so fast. Of course, there were plenty of mechanical issues. I went through 3 sets of leaf springs, 6 starters before they realized they needed to replace the alternator. My heater core popped and leaked fluid all over the interior... Etc.... The problems kept on coming, so, when it was out of warranty, we dumped it.

By the way, there was no P in Syclone (built in '91).

there was a red / red (hard combo to find) with no roof rack (even harder) with only 15k miles on it in Indiana recently.... the guy wants $23k though.... kind of steep.... i would be driving it fairly regularily if I bought it..... probably will need valve seals, alternator, heater core and some other stuff as soon as anyone drives it....

I agree with derryck about the speed of it..... typhoon's were way underrated and only weighed 3800lbs.... new trailblazers are probably 4500lbs and will not be underrated on the horsepower..... 0-60 in 6.5 seconds is quick, but nothing special.
