The NSX is dead dead DEAD. So is the NSX replacement.
Honda is just scrambling to field something because it can't run NSX MR cars in SuperGT anymore, and its looking to get an exception to homologation rules, which isn't going to happen - even if it did, it would mean Honda can run these old cars without producing anything for consumers. Honda thought it could keep running these old cars forever and the series says otherwise - if you can't make and sell a car, you can't race it.

Judging by the fact that Honda's dropping out of a lot of races, I'm sure they won't go through the effort in making a car just for the purpose of racing, since both the NSX and Honda racing are dead

SuperGT changed the rules to only allow FM cars, no more MR cars. Considering the NSX was the only car in the series that was MR, I'd say it was to push Honda's old cars out.
Honda wants a pass to keep using the old cars, but its not going to get it.

Which is awesome in that Honda does need to develop some new stuff in that segment, and kinda retarded all at the same time, because MR should be in that series. There should have found a more creative way to encourage that than just banning the MR layout. I do agree that Honda needs to step its game up a little bit, but just taking MR out is short-sighted.
The NSX is a very valid platform with a long racing heritage. I'm sad to see it go.
It's all just my opinion, feel free to ignore if you wish.
